The Office of University Relations & Equal Opportunity aids the institution in upholding the university’s commitment to equal educational opportunity. Key functions include:

  • Facilitating the reasonable accommodation process for:
    • Qualified disabled students and other members of the university community and individuals who access services or programs of the university;
    • Students seeking accommodations based on pregnancy or related condition; and
    • Students seeking accommodations based on sincerely held religious beliefs that conflict with a university policy, procedure, or other academic requirement.
  • Responding to claims of discrimination and harassment based on race (including hair texture or protective hairstyle), color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by law or university policy.
  • Supporting the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator in their efforts to:
    • Provide a positive learning and teaching environment that is free from sex discrimination, including all forms of sexual misconduct; and
    • Respond appropriately to all reports of prohibited conduct.
