The BSN-DNP Family Nurse Practitioner track prepares baccalaureate-degree nurses to transition into the nurse practitioner role to provide primary care for individuals and families across the lifespan. With a strong emphasis on health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention and illness management, graduates are prepared as clinical scholars, leaders, and providers of innovative person/population centered primary health care. The program focuses on interprofessional partnerships and developing competencies in advanced evidence-based nursing practice, quality improvement, and safety that lead to improved systems of care and enhanced health outcomes.
Students may choose to add an optional emergency concentration to FNP track which prepares graduates to provide care in emergency department/center.
